Lazarus House Hygiene Bank
Boise Catholic Worker is opening a Hygiene Bank, at Lazarus House, 3704 Overland. This work of mercy will provide hygiene items to those unable to afford them; hygiene items cannot be purchased with food stamps. Food Banks will sometimes have some items but often fall short of providing a consistent supply of any particular item because providing food to the hungry is their main focus.
We are currently working to collect an inventory of the following hygiene items: deodorant, laundry detergent, men and women’s razors, shampoo, shaving jel or foam, soap, toilet paper, toothpaste, tooth brushes, and women’s menstruation products. We will take sample size items, but we prefer to give those in need full size items.
Your help is needed to make this work of mercy a success and it is greatly appreciated. Hygiene items can be dropped off at Lazarus House’s back porch located at 3704 Overland. We will have a collection container available for items dropped off. If you have any questions, please call Ellen at 629-5306.
